SuiteWorld 2022: Highlights from Oracle NetSuite’s annual event

Over 26–29 September, businesses from around the world descended on Las Vegas to attend Oracle NetSuite’s SuiteWorld 2022. As the largest annual gathering of the NetSuite community, it showcased fantastic people, ideas and – most importantly – new technologies.

If you couldn’t attend the event in-person or stream it live, we’ve compiled some of the biggest takeaways from SuiteWorld 2022.

Major platform updates for NetSuite

Oracle NetSuite kicked off its latest SuiteWorld event in style with a rousing keynote speech from Evan Goldberg, Founder and Executive Vice President. He unveiled a series of new automation and analytics innovations for the platform that are intended to not only help customers save time, but also improve the depth of insights they are able to glean.

As reported by Mobile Magazine, some of the latest innovations that Goldberg announced for upcoming release across the NetSuite platform include:

  • NetSuite AP Automation: An AP automation solution that increases the accuracy and speed of processing bills and making payments.
  • NetSuite CPQ: A CPQ (configure, price, quote) solution that accelerates and simplifies the sales process.
  • NetSuite SuitePeople Workforce Management: Workforce management solution that streamlines scheduling, time tracking, and wage calculations, helping organisations to balance labour costs and profitability.
  • NetSuite Ship Central: A shipping solution that brings added efficiency to warehouse operations.

Pitch competition

Following the inaugural keynote was the much-anticipated Pitch Competition. Three startups – Chipper (a student-loan app), UInclude (a recruitment tool) and OpticSurg (an AR telecollaboration tool for healthcare workers) – shared their business story, their vision for the future and argued why their startup was the most groundbreaking of all the pitches.

Ultimately, both the judges’ and audience’s votes went to Chipper, which took out the Gold award in the Pitch Competition.

AI is enhancing how NetSuite learns

There’s no denying that artificial intelligence and machine learning are key to helping industries digitally transform and break free of the shackles of repetitive work – especially data entry. At his executive keynote, Gary Wiessinger, SVP of Product Management at Oracle NetSuite, spoke about how his team is using sophisticated intelligence tech to streamline data entry.

He also went on to share how NetSuite is using AI to advance its platform’s learning capabilities, telling audience members: “We automate even more, by using AI to learn what users are doing repeatedly, and then we do it automatically.”

Learning Lab workshops

This year, SuiteWorld attendees were able to get firsthand access to NetSuite’s broad education services through the dedicated Learning Lab. From interactive workshops to personalised education plans, the Learning Lab was designed to provide hands-on learning for customers coming from every level of implementation.

Standouts from the Learning Lab across the three-day event included interactive sessions like The First 90 Days: Taking the Plunge into ERP and Quick Tips for the Customer Dashboard.

How automation tools are optimising cash flow

In the wake of rising interest rates and a higher cost of living across not just Australia but most of the Western world, experts shared their insights on how NetSuite is boosting its platform’s finance automation capabilities.

Craig Sullivan, GVP of Product Management, Head of International at Oracle NetSuite told attendees: “We think about optimising cash and profits like you do, from the perspective of how those key back-office processes can best serve and support the rest of your business. We focus on how we can utilise those incredible power-ups to enable you to plan, to manage cash, do accounting, report, and comply with regulations, wherever you do business.”

SuiteWorld will be returning again next year – both in Las Vegas and live-streamed online – over 16–19 October 2023. You can sign up to be notified of updates for next year’s event.
